Our Favorite DIY Beauty Recipes

Winter can be brutal on your hair & skin, no matter where you live! We tapped brand new mama, Michelle B. (who we cannot wait to have back in the box, soon!), for her favorite DIY beauty recipes. Michelle uses these when she’s craving a little self-love & we’re all about pampering on a budget (you can buy everything at your local grocery store). 

Added bonus – throw in a little Restorative Stretch followed by a glass of wine and you’ve got the ideal Sunday evening. Happy pampering! 

DEEP CONDITIONING HAIR MASK

Ingredients:

1 ripe avocado

2 tablespoons organic, single origin olive oil

2 tablespoons local honey

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Directions: 

Blend all ingredients in a food processor, blender or whip them in a bowl until smooth.

Spread the mask onto damp hair. Rub throughly from ends to scalp. Use a clip to pull hair into a bun on top of your head and put on a shower cap. Let it sit for 15-30 min, option to add heat with hair dryer. Rinse and wash hair as usual.

 
 
UNDER EYE CIRCLE CURE 
 
Ingredients: 
 
Organic parsley
 
Directions: 
 
Roughly chop a handful of parsley. In a small bowl, grind the leaves with a wooden spoon. Grind the parsley until it releases the juice in the leavesPour a tablespoon of hot water over the parsley and stir the mixture together. When the water has cooled, use 2 cotton balls to soak up the juice. Lie down and keep the cotton ball under your eyes for 10 minutes. Do this 2-3 times per week to see results!
 
 
 
BODY SCRUB FOR DRY, WINTER SKIN
 

Ingredients: 

Coconut sugar 

Coconut oil

Directions: 

Heat coconut oil until melted using a microwave or double broiler. Combine with sugar and add more oil as needed until desired texture. Store in a resealable container and to use, scoop scrub into your hand and apply in a circular motion to exfoliate. *Adapted from HellowGlow.co
